There are a few considerations before you begin your digital storytelling program. Who will participate? How many can be accommodated? What audio or video recording equipment do you have? What will have to be purchased? What software will you use for editing? How long will the program be? Who will facilitate? Are you hiring digital storytelling experts or doing it yourself?
This guide does not provide detailed answers to these questions – that’s up to you. Sit down with the stakeholders, facilitators and participants and design your ideal program. You also don’t need to use project management software, but that’s up to you.
In the following sections I’ll outline ways to organize participant work using online tools, audio recording, editing and production process. Lastly I’ll talk about distribution and sharing your work in various settings, from presentations to online portfolios.
